Easy Hermit Crab Care

Ever longed for more information on easy hermit crab care.?

How do hermit crabs live? What kinds of foods do they eat? What is the best kind of terrarium?

Well wonder no more friends!

It's not difficult to keep hermit crabs so long as you provide an appropriate environment with the right mixture of foods and a few toys for fun.

Hermit crabs like a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees, a humidity of 70% or above and a mixture of sand and coconut fibre is an ideal substrate.

Make sure their terrarium is an interesting environment to live in and that the hermit crabs have plenty of shells to grow in to.

Hermit crabs like all kinds of food, but don't feed them junk food, like crisps, cookies or chocolate. You can give them specialist food if you wish.

How can you tell if your hermit crab is dead? Sometimes they can lie still for upto a week! But if he soesn't smell like a dead fish, he's probably just molting.

Every terrarium needs two bowls of water, one fresh water and one salt water. The bowls should be deep enough for the crabs to bath and if you use tap water it should be dechlorinated.

There is little more to it than that. Enjoy your hermit crabs!
